It's 2006, the clock's ticking and our nation's future is a big fat question mark. But, it's still a grand time to give thanks for:

RED NECKERSON - Page 4
by red neckerson
This Thanksgiving we can all bow our heads and express gratitude for the blessing of the mute button and channel-changer on our TV remotes that allowed up to skip nearly all the sickening campaign commericals. Is it just me, or didn’t politicians once air commercials promising pie-in-the-sky goodies if they were elected?... MORE

Saying 'goodbye' to one of Atlanta's long-time good guys
Since 1977, Fuzzy’s on N. Druid Hills has been the place for live blues and rock ‘n roll most every night of the week. There’s never been a need to dress up at the tiny Buckhead honky-tonk and ninety-five percent of the bar’s patrons are regulars who’ve hit the half-century mark and want cheap beer, old-fashioned surroundings and the above-average pub grub menu serving Chef Joe Dale’s Cajun menu. Just as this issue of the hudspeth report was headed to print we received news that Fuzzy, of Fuzzy’s Place, had passed away on Tuesday morning October 24... MORE

Outstanding Cuban fare

Good, old-fashioned,
Asian jungle grub
As soon as we sat down a little Asian lady came marching out of the kitchen carrying a large pot with a steamy trail of aromatics wafting behind her. She fearlessly marched right up to the first three customers she could find and proudly stuck the big pot right up into their faces so that they could get a good whiff and asked, “smell good?” Then quickly marched back into the kitchen... & contributor bo shurling
The Red Robin legacy began in the 1940’s with Sam’s Tavern, a small tavern perched on a Seattle hilltop near the University of Washington campus. The owner, Sam, sang in a barber shop quartet and could frequently be heard singing the song, “When the red robin goes bob bob bobbin’ along...” In fact, Sam loved the song so much that he eventually changed the name of his tavern to Sam’s Red Robin and over the years it became known simply as Red Robin...
