Rumblings...
We have heard this Rumor from a couple of sources that say Dale Talde from Bravo’s Top Chef has been in town and in talks with Tom Catherall to become part of his new Asian restaurant Aja. Dale and local chef Richard Blais (who is currently at Catherall’s Home Restaurant) made fast friends on the program. Aja is planned for the recently-closed Emeril’s location at 3500 Lenox Road... Rumor says Chef Danny, formerly of Sala has joined with Atlanta R&B/Hip Hop titans Jermaine Dupree and Akon to redevelop 3 sites near the old Jocks and Jills on Peachtree. Atlanta Cooks at Home
On July 12th, 2008 The Fifth Group’s Food Studio at 887 Marietta Street in Atlanta ceased to be a restaurant and now functions as the Fifth Group’s special events facility. Opened in 1996, Food Studio pioneered Atlanta’s Westside, opening in the 100-year-old King Plow Arts Center. This month, in honor of the Food Studio’s long run, we feature one of executive chef Mark Alba’s recipes. Raised in Louisiana, Alba wanted to be an astronaut growing up, but now says: “Being a chef is the only occupation that matters to me. I wouldn’t trade it for any other.” Alba’s favorite quote in the kitchen is: “If you’re not moving, you’re standing still.”...RECIPE
